BUYER BEWARE COOL VUE


“It is what it is” was told to us by the owner of Cool Vue Aluminium Inc. on 9/11/2020.  After serval months of waiting on an installation.  We finalized our needs with a sales representative of Cool Vue on 6/13/2020, we were told that our product will be completed within 6 to 8 weeks.  On 8/3/2020 a call was placed to the office of  Cool Vue where Cindy answered, nice woman but her reaction to our request of installation was shocking.  Without saying she had a sudden mood change & frantic reaction, we can only come to one conclusion they forgot about our home.


So we begin a journey of bullshit this company was shoveling.  Prior to this phone call we had no need to mistrust the capabilities of this company.  We were calling for two reasons, the satisfaction of knowing we were going to have our property secured in the time for the upcoming storms in the gulf & the start of the remaining projects we acquired an estimated for.  Cindy informed us that the company that manufactures everything in house sent off to have our curved pieces, manufactured elsewhere.  Red Flag


Two weeks later we followed up again, we are now 8 weeks out.  Cindy answered didn’t recall our conversation but put the phone on hold to walk to shop and returned later.  She asked if she can return our call with an answer on the installation, it never happened.  At this point we are now initiating every contact with Cool Vue to get answers, needless to say aggravating.


Its Labor Day weekend we have now followed up yet again, with rain on the horizon and tropical storms on our door steps.  Cindy had answers “Two Weeks, I assure you, your install should be completed and installed in two weeks.


The morning of September 11th, we received a call from Cindy.  Hip, hip or you f$&king kidding me, no installation scheduled, we are now awaiting paint.  At this point, our trust is gone, our confidence in their capabilities shattered.  We now need to speak to someone else above Cindy, Dean comes to the phone.  Dean declares he’s the owner, he now has notes in front of him from our original contact in 3/2019, to the deposit on 6/13 & everything in between up until now.  Confused, possibly frustrated for the lack of organization in his own company, everything I’ve told you, we are conveying to him.


“It is what it is” comes out of his mouth, we are behind on products, materials, overloaded on work behind on jobs.  The excuse on this delay now is paint, the product is completed but not sprayed, we can send you photos, I don’t know why it was ordered when you originally ordered your product.  But I can send you photos to show them finished on the floor, my foreman is on the phone now trying get answers on when can we get it in, to spray your shutters, it only takes two hours & two hours to dry, I’ll get those photos to you today.  “It is what, it is” right now he stated again.  Us understandable but where is the communication from you all, we are hounding you and yet another storm is in the Gulf.  Those photos never arrived on that day, nor a phone call on estimate of installation.


The following Friday we received a call that, that our shutters are completed & scheduled for installation.  But if it’s raining they would need to reschedule.  

That Monday it rained slightly no one showed just a call.  That Tuesday an installer showed at 9:50 am it was misting.  I can not make this up “we can not do the installation on the second floor if it starts raining.  I have job around the corner that’s a one story, let me knock that out and return if the weather is better.”  It was sunshine for the rest of the day, no one returned.  To add insult to the entire affairs I had the lawn being cut & gutters being installed with no problem.  The next day the same guy returned, completed the job in an hour & half, never showed us how to operate the shutters, asked for payment & drove off.  Within 10 minutes of him driving off they had charged the credit card on file, no call, no follow up, no apologies.


Today after install, we are outside trying to to figure out how to lock the product from the inside window.  Again we were never giving an explanation on how to operate.  We called and Dean the owner answered, he recalled who I was from our address.  I explained we are attempting to lock the windows from the inside because the installer never took the time to explain operation.  After getting that settled over the phone, the owner never once apologized, never once sounded empathetic towards our inconvenience as clients of his.  Just made excuses on materials & number of jobs they are doing, never offered a discount on the current job or future job, simply just stated “it is what is right now”.
